Just a brief explanation of the services I can provide as your Construction Consultant:
Owner-Builder Assistance:
My main duty is to provide you with any assistance you need to make good decisions concerning your new home / remodel /etc, I custom design a series of bid packages listing all the requirements you desire before you start looking for sub-contractors. I set you up with a production schedule listing all of the items you will need to consider. I can help you come up with a practical budget, timeline, and oversee any subs or situations you may not be familiar with. I can also accompany you and your designer / excavator etc. to your prospective building site to assist with site locations / etc. as well as provide any insights concerning your buildings design / etc. Another service I provide is going over reports from the Pest/Termite person or Home Inspector to explain and give an unbiased opinion as to the nature of the reported items. I can also design and draft smaller projects such as garages and small additions that perhaps may be too small or cost effective for a full time architectural firm.
The Paper Chase:
I gather all the information and complete all the forms and documents needed to secure a permit (of any type) whether it's a new home or remodel / addition or perhaps getting an existing deck / addition / etc. permitted to allow for a re-finance or sale. I take care of any as-built drawings / inspections / etc. so that if you wish you never have to be in contact with any of the bureaucracy. I know the questions that will be asked and can provide the correct answers to make this sometimes tedious and overwhelming process proceed as painlessly as possible. In instances where drawings and / or site maps are required I can provide these also. In some special situations where a Surveyor or Engineer is needed I can arrange and coordinate their services. I also make and distribute the necessary copies and property markers needed, such as when a setback variance is desired. My services also include staying in contact with the different agencies involved prior to any hearings in front of any Committees so any surprises are kept to a minimum. I also go to the hearings and answer questions from the members of the board. I can also negotiate with any neighbors that may not understand the process or the need for your permit / variance / etc.

We can design a custom consulting package and fee to suit your individual needs based upon the time you have to devote to your project as well as the amount of experience you have or will need. If Time Available to you is not an option we can manage or build your project in phases or as a complete job on a cost plus basis.
